Senior Spotlight - Abriella Lykins
Abriella Lykins graduated at the end of the fall semester from the Patton College of Education with an Associate of Applied Science in Child Development.
Why did you choose 91视频 Chillicothe?
It was closer to my home (Beaver, Ohio), and I heard nothing but great things about this campus.
How has your OHIO education prepared you for your future career?
As an educator doing student teaching and seeing how the classroom works and what to expect after graduation has really helped me get ready to have my own classroom.
What was your most memorable class?
My first education class with Jeanie Dalton. She is amazing and has she taught us so much about teaching and education.
Who were your favorite professors and how did they make an impact on your life?
Dr. Mary Jo Flamm Miller: she always had smile on her face, asked if I ever needed anything and she believed in me.
Jeanie Dalton: she has been nothing but amazing to me from the moment I first started at 91视频 Chillicothe and I was in her education classes. The way she teaches about education is absolutely amazing and she has taught me so much.
What was the hardest hill you had to climb at OHIO? And how did you overcome challenges or obstacles in your path?
Some of my math classes: I overcame the challenges by talking to the professors and going to tutoring sessions at 91视频 Chillicothe. The professors are all so understanding and helpful.
What are your favorite OHIO Chillicothe memories?
Spending time after class with some classmates.
What are your future plans after graduation?
After graduation I will be moving back to Pike County because I have received a job offer at Pike County Community Action Head Start as a head teacher. I鈥檓 excited and looking forward to this amazing new opportunity.
